Privacy Policy
ReelsPocket
Last updated: June 24, 2026
ReelsPocket is a local video player and library app for Android. It is designed to help you browse, search, filter, favorite, and play videos that are already stored on your device.
This Privacy Policy explains what information ReelsPocket accesses, how that information is used, and the choices you have.
Information We Access
ReelsPocket may access the following information on your device:
- Your local video files and video metadata, such as file name, folder, size, duration, date, and resolution.
- App usage data stored locally, such as favorites, watch history, playback position, recent searches, and app settings.
- Crash and diagnostic information if Firebase Crashlytics is enabled in the installed app build.
How We Use Information
ReelsPocket uses this information to:
- Display your local video library.
- Play videos and remember playback progress.
- Let you favorite videos, view watch history, search, sort, and filter videos.
- Generate and cache video thumbnails locally for a faster browsing experience.
- Understand and fix crashes or technical issues when crash reporting is enabled.
Media Permissions
ReelsPocket requests access to videos on your device. On Android 13 and newer, this uses the video media permission. On older Android versions, this may use external storage read permission. This access is required for the app's core video library and playback features.
Local Media and Uploads
ReelsPocket does not upload your videos to our servers. Your videos remain on your device unless you choose to share or delete them using Android system features.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your local videos with advertisers or data brokers.
If Firebase Crashlytics is enabled, crash and diagnostic data may be processed by Google Firebase to help identify and fix app errors. Firebase may collect technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and diagnostic identifiers. You can review Google's privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Data Stored on Your Device
Favorites, watch history, playback progress, recent searches, settings, and thumbnail cache are stored on your device. You can clear app storage or uninstall the app to remove this local app data.
ReelsPocket does not maintain user accounts or a server-side database of your personal app data.
Retention and Deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall ReelsPocket. If you delete a video from inside the app, the app uses the Android media deletion flow and the deletion may be permanent.
Crash and diagnostic data handled by Firebase is retained according to Firebase's applicable retention practices.
Security
ReelsPocket is designed to keep your video library on your device. We use local app storage for library metadata and settings. No method of storage or electronic processing is completely secure, but we aim to limit data access to what is needed for the app to function.
Children's Privacy
ReelsPocket is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through crash or diagnostic data, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
